Urogynecology
Urogynaecological therapy deals mainly with problems connected with incontinence. It is addressed to patients before and after surgeries in the area of pelvis minor (uterus, ovaries, prostate). Idividually designed therapy may be enhanced by electrostimulation and/or biofeedback.
Urogynaecological therapy is advisable for:
- women before and after surgeries in the area of the organs of pelvis minor (uterus, ovaries) and men before and after surgery of prostate, when the symptom is incontinence
- women in menopause,
- women after delivery,
- in prophylaxis of descensus of the organs of pelvis minor which may cause their prolapsing,
- people who have the problem of incontinence caused by strain or stress,
- women with pain syndrome of the area of pelvis.
For the first visit please prepare results of urine and urodynamic tests, if such tests had been done earlier. Please also prepare discharge summary from hospital or maternity notes.
During our first meeting I will ask you about details of your problem. We will analyse your record of miction together. In order to fully diagnose and assess the condition of pelvic floor muscles the therapy may include per vaginum* or per rectum* examination. For your own comfort, please bring a towel and comfortable clothes. In the surgery there are disposable clothes and medical underpads at your disposal.
